Here at Fuente Verde we are in the process of utilizing our water resource to
generate electricity for the farm. This is a project that will take place during the coming dry season. We are going to be installing micro-hydro generators that are manufactured in New Zealand, by Power Spout. The units will be tied into our farm-wide electrical distribution system to supplement or replace what comes from the local power company. Please check back as we will post new pictures as the project continues.
One of our members, David Waters, specializes in solar and alternative energy systems design and installation. Through his reseach for the best micro-hydro for our farm he connected with Power Spout and is now their exclusive dealer in Costa Rica.
